Judges 1:16,
The children of the Kenite, Moses’ father-in-law, ascended from the City of Date Palms with the children of Judah to the Wilderness of Judah that is south of Arad; they went and settled with the people.
Radak, Like their ancestor Jethro, the Kenites were loyal friends and allies of Israel, and the Jews reciprocated this friendship by evacuating the Kenite families whenever they might be caught in the crossfire of war. The Kenites had settled in Jericho (the City of Date Palms), and when the battle for the city took place, they left it and settled with the tribe of Judah (in Stone Tanach commentary).

17. Sisera fled on his feet to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, for there was peace between Jabin, king of Hazor, and the House of Heber the Kenite. 18. Jael went out toward Sisera and said to him, «Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me, do not fear.» So he turned aside to her to the tent, and she covered him with a blanket. 19. He said to her, «Bive me now a bit of water to drink, because I am thirsty.» She opened a skin of milk, gave him to drink, and covered him. 20. He said to her, «Stand at the entrance of the tent, and it shall be that if any man will come and ask you and say, ‘Is anyone here?’ you shall say, ‘No!'» 21. Jael, wife of Heber, took a tent peg, placed a hammer in her hand, came to him stealthily, and drove the peg into his temple and it went through into the ground – [while] he was sleeping deeply and exhausted – and he died. 22. Behold – Barak was pursuing Sisera, and Jael went out toward him and told him, «Come and I will show you the man whom you seek!» He came to her and behold – Sisera was fallen, dead, with the peg in his temple.
I Samuel 15:6,
5. Saul came to the city of Amalek, and he fought [them] in the valley. 6. Saul said to the Kenite, «Go, withdraw, descend from among the Amalekite, lest I destroy you with them; for you acted kindly to all the Children of Israel when they went up from Egypt.» So the Kenite withdrew from among Amalek.

[He sent] to those in Beth-el, to those in Ramot of the South, and to those in Jattir; 28. and to those in Aroer and to those in Siphmoth and to those in Eshtemoa; 29. and to those in Rachal and to those in the Jerahmeelite cities [cf. 27:10] and to those in the Kenite cities; 30. and to those in Hormah and to those in Cor Ashan and to those in Atahach, 31. and to those in Hebron; and to those in all the places where David had traveled – he and his men.
